Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin<\/a> offered an update after quarterback Aaron Rodgers<\/a> appeared to suffer a calf injury in Tuesday\u2019s practice. Per ESPN\u2019s Brooke Pryor<\/a>, Tomlin said there is \u201cnothing of significance\u201d regarding the injury and that Rodgers returned to practice without missing any reps. <\/p>\n

Rodgers suffered the injury after being stepped on during a play and came away grabbing at his right calf. He was later seen getting a bag of ice wrapped around the calf before removing the ice and wrapping it up with a bandage. <\/p>\n

Pryor noted<\/a>\u00a0that Rodgers was \u201cnot quite as fluid\u201d on his first couple of drop throws after getting his calf wrapped. He also threw an interception on his last rep. <\/p>\n

The update from Tomlin is certainly good news as it appears Rodgers won\u2019t be held back at all after the injury scare. The Steelers are counting on the 41-year-old veteran to be their starter this season after he signed a one-year deal. <\/p>\n

Rodgers brings many accolades with him, including four MVP awards and a Super Bowl victory with the Green Bay Packers in 2011, which ironically came against the Steelers. Now the team is hoping he can help them get back to the big game in 2025.<\/p>\n

Injuries are often a concern with a quarterback his age, though, and Aaron Rodgers does have a recent history with them. He suffered a torn Achilles in the 2023 season opener but bounced back last season to play in all 17 games with the New York Jets.<\/p>\n

It at least seems that this injury won\u2019t keep him out at all, and the Steelers will hope for another season of full health out of the QB. They\u2019ll kick off the regular season with a matchup against Rodgers\u2019 old team, the New York Jets, on Sept. 7. <\/p>\n

Rodgers has been the most polarizing player in the NFL over the past couple of seasons. Now, as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he doesn\u2019t care what anyone has to say about him \u2014 the four time NFL MVP just wants to win football games.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t give a shit about that,\u201d Rodgers\u00a0responded<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Pat McAfee<\/a>\u00a0during an appearance on his show, regarding anyone peddling doubt about whether he can still get the job done. It\u2019s evident that legendary quarterback isn\u2019t playing to make fiends, but to notch victories with his teammates.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s tough to blame Rodgers for his mindset. He\u2019s proven to be able to get the job done, even at his advanced age \u2014 last season with the New York Jets, he passed for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions amid uncertainly with the franchise\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

In a more stable environment with the Steelers, he could rise above and lead them to the promise land. At least that\u2019s what he\u2019s hoping, and what\u00a0Mike Tomlin<\/a>\u00a0and company are wishing for. That\u2019s why Pittsburgh signed him to a deal worth $13.65 million and $10 million guaranteed.<\/p>\n
