Missed time in September could be in store as well depending on how his recovery process shakes out. Spears is in line to once again operate as part of a tandem with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/P\/PollTo00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-11_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tony Pollard<\/a>\u00a0in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Pollard topped 1,000 rushing yards for the third consecutive season during his debut Tennessee campaign. Spears \u2013 who impressed as a rookie spelling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HenrDe00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-11_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Derrick Henry<\/a> \u2013 missed five games last year as a result of multiple injuries. That limited the former third-rounder to 536 scrimmage yards in 2024, but a clean bill of health for the coming season could see him take on an increased workload and thus enjoy an uptick in production. If Spears is forced to miss regular season game action, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/ChesJu00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-11_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Julius Chestnut<\/a> and sixth-round rookie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/kalel-mullings-1.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-11_cfb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kalel Mullings<\/a> would be tasked with backing up Pollard.<\/p>\n<p>In other Titans injury news, Callahan noted center\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CushLl00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-11_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Lloyd Cushenberry<\/a> is nearing a return. The 2024 free agent addition suffered an Achilles tear last season, and he has been on the active\/PUP list throughout training camp while continuing to rehab. Cushenberry could return to practice this week, per Callahan, something which would be a welcomed sight for the Titans\u2019 new-look offensive line.<\/p>\n<p>Callahan also said cornerback <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SneeLJ00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-08-11_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">L\u2019Jarius Sneed<\/a>\u00a0is close to returning. A number of updates (ranging from positive to worrisome) have emerged in his case, but the latest indicated Sneed\u2019s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/07\/cb-rumors-flott-giants-banks-sneed-titans-hill-bengals-barron-broncos-diggs-cowboys-packers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">2024 quad injury has healed<\/a>. An offseason knee surgery was instead responsible for the trade acquisition landing on the active\/PUP list in July.
