The New Orleans Saints have signed three players after holding workouts on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The Saints have signed wide receiver Roderick Daniels, tight end Seth Green, and defensive tackle Jayden Peevy. To make room for the new signees, New Orleans waived wide receiver Chris Tyree and tight end Mason Pline with injury designations and placed Will Clapp on season-ending injured reserve.<\/p>\n
Roderick Daniels was among four wideouts that the Saints tried out on Tuesday. At 5-foot-9, Jones isn\u2019t the mold of a wide receiver that New Orleans was expected to sign. The Saints\u2019 wide receiver room lacks a pass catcher taller than 6-foot-2, and after recent news of Bub Means\u2019 injury, it was expected they would finally target a larger wideout who can be a middle-of-the-field threat.<\/p>\n
Daniels was invited to the Saints minicamp earlier in the offseason. The 5-foot-9 wideout specializes as a punt and kick returner and will likely resume that role in New Orleans for the preseason. The Saints also tried out Justyn Ross, JaVonta Payton, and Cornell Powell.<\/p>\n
The Saints waived tight end Seth Green ahead of their week 1 preseason matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. New Orleans made the move to make room to sign former San Francisco 49ers tight end Mason Pline. Unfortunately, Pline suffered an injury during Sunday\u2019s game and was waived on Tuesday with an injury designation. With their newfound roster space, the Saints signed Green.<\/p>\n
Defensive tackle Jayden Peevy is the most experienced of the Saints\u2019 signings, entering his fourth season in the league. Since being drafted in 2022, Peevy has had brief stints with the Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers (twice), Cleveland Browns, and Houston Texans.<\/p>\n
