He knows it, he\u2019s been here, he\u2019s done that\u2026when he\u2019s out there things are settled down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bachie, 27, signed with the Colts on May 7 after a solid stint with the Bengals, where he logged 46 total tackles and a pass defended.<\/p>\n<p>Given his familiarity with Anarumo\u2019s defense, there\u2019s a certain expectation on him to help insert the new defense. That extra weight gives him an advantage in the competition for the second linebacker spot starting next to Zaire Franklin.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Anarumo said that spot is up for grabs, adding several players will get their shot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe like to play a lot of players,\u201d Anarumo said. \u201cWe\u2019ll see how that whole thing shakes out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Colts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colts.com\/news\/colts-release-unofficial-depth-chart-for-preseason-week-2-game-vs-green-bay-packers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:updated unofficial depth chart;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">updated unofficial depth chart<\/a> lists Bachie as the backup MIKE linebacker behind Franklin, with Cam McGrone the starting backer on the weak side, followed by second-year Jaylon Carlies, Austin Ajiake and Segun Olubi.<\/p>\n<p>Anarumo calls his linebackers a \u201cgreat group\u201d and is intrigued by what they can bring this season. Still, Bachie appears to have the right traits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe plays with great awareness, he\u2019s got really good football IQ, so he\u2019s kind of ahead of the play, ahead of the game.
