{"id":289440,"date":"2025-08-15T06:43:25","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T06:43:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/289440\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T06:43:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T06:43:25","slug":"sean-mcvay-says-matthew-stafford-back-will-work-out-again-saturday-emmanuel-forbes-jr-resumes-practicing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/289440\/","title":{"rendered":"Sean McVay says Matthew Stafford (back) will work out again Saturday; Emmanuel Forbes Jr. resumes practicing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CARSON, Calif. \u2013 Rams head coach Sean McVay said quarterback <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.therams.com\/team\/players-roster\/matthew-stafford\/\" title=\"Matthew Stafford\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Stafford<\/a> has another workout scheduled for Saturday similar to the one he conducted last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hopefully it responds a little bit better, and then I&#8217;ll have more information for you guys then,&#8221; McVay said after Thursday&#8217;s joint practice with the Saints.<\/p>\n<p>Stafford did not participate in Thursday&#8217;s joint practice with the Saints. Although the team is taking things one day at a time with him, Stafford not practicing against the Saints wasn&#8217;t too much of a surprise, given McVay had already ruled out Stafford from participating in their joint practice with the Chargers that ended up getting canceled.<\/p>\n<p>Stafford was scheduled to return to practice this past Monday and participate in individual drills before the Rams decided against him participating after he &#8220;didn&#8217;t feel good enough&#8221; coming in Monday.<\/p>\n<p>When asked on Thursday if Stafford&#8217;s back issue is more functional or pain tolerance, McVay said &#8220;I think probably a little bit of both.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re trying to get our hands around this as well, so I don&#8217;t really have much more information other than think we&#8217;re trying some different things that are hopefully going to be in alignment with getting him back out on the field,&#8221; McVay said.<\/p>\n<p>\n  Forbes practicing again<\/p>\n<p>Cornerback <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/www.therams.com\/team\/players-roster\/emmanuel-forbes\/\" title=\"Emmanuel Forbes Jr.\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emmanuel Forbes Jr.<\/a> (hamstring) returned to practice earlier this week and participated in Thursday&#8217;s joint practice.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He got about 50 percent of the snaps today, which was in alignment with the plan,&#8221; McVay said. &#8220;It&#8217;s good to be able to get him out on (the) practice (field) a couple days ago, and looks like he&#8217;s feeling good.
