{"id":289499,"date":"2025-08-15T07:15:20","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T07:15:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/289499\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T07:15:20","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T07:15:20","slug":"nfl-will-continue-featuring-social-justice-messages-including-end-racism-in-end-zones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/289499\/","title":{"rendered":"NFL will continue featuring social justice messages including &#8216;End Racism&#8217; in end zones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The social justice messages stenciled at the back of NFL end zones appeared as if they might be on their way out after the league <a data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/super-bowl-2025-end-zones-will-not-feature-end-racism-slogan-for-first-time-since-2021-212456612.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:did not use &quot;End Racism&quot; on the back line;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">did not use &#8220;End Racism&#8221; on the back line<\/a> during the Super Bowl in February.<\/p>\n<p>However, the NFL will feature these messages again this season including &#8220;End Racism,&#8221; along with \u201cStop Hate,\u201d \u201cChoose Love\u201d or \u201cInspire Change&#8221; on one of the back lines. The opposite end zone in every NFL game will have the message &#8220;It Takes All of Us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Before Super Bowl LIX in February, the NFL&#8217;s decision fueled speculation that removing the &#8220;End Racism&#8221; slogan from the rotation of messages was intended to appease President Donald Trump and his initiatives against diversity, equity and inclusion programs and policies in the federal government and higher education. Leading up to this year&#8217;s game, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FOS\/status\/1886917652985340057\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:denied;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">denied<\/a> that the decision had anything to do with Trump. And when the story about the end zone stencils was originally reported by <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6112317\/2025\/02\/04\/nfl-end-racism-super-bowl-dei-trump\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:The Athletic;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">The Athletic<\/a>, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he was &#8220;proud&#8221; of the league&#8217;s efforts to promote diversity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe got into diversity efforts because we felt it was the right thing for the National Football League,\u201d Goodell told <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6112317\/2025\/02\/04\/nfl-end-racism-super-bowl-dei-trump\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:The Athletic&#039;s Michael Silver;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">The Athletic&#8217;s Michael Silver<\/a>. \u201cAnd we\u2019re going to continue those efforts, because we\u2019ve not only convinced ourselves we\u2019ve proven it to ourselves \u2014 it does make the NFL better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;End Racism&#8221; will be on the back of one end zone for every one of the NFL&#8217;s international games this season, with &#8220;It Takes All of Us&#8221; on the other back line.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>The defending Super Bowl champion <a data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nfl\/teams\/philadelphia\" data-ylk=\"slk:Philadelphia Eagles;cpos:6;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> will have &#8220;Choose Love&#8221; on one of their end zones when they open the season versus the <a data-i13n=\"cpos:7;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nfl\/teams\/dallas\" data-ylk=\"slk:Dallas Cowboys;cpos:7;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas Cowboys<\/a>, <a data-i13n=\"cpos:8;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/nfl-end-zone-messages-end-racism-593ea0278bccb1d30f8c741ccadcf943\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:the AP reports;cpos:8;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">the AP reports<\/a>.
