This morning’s sweltering joint practice<\/a> between the Carolina Panthers<\/a> and the Houston Texans really didn’t need any extra heat. But it got some anyway, courtesy of safety Tre’von Moehrig.<\/p>\n

Towards the end of Thursday’s session, Moehrig drilled Texans wideout Xavier Hutchinson on a completion over the middle of the field. The booming shot wasn’t received too kindly by Hutchinson’s teammates, and nearly ignited a scuffle.<\/p>\n

Moehrig talked about his physicality with reporters after the workout, and said he’ll deal with whatever happens as a result of it.<\/p>\n

“For me, it’s really just going 100 percent,” stated Moehrig<\/a>, who signed<\/a> with the Panthers on a three-year, $51 million deal this past spring. “I mean, I’m not really trying to think, ‘Pull back.’ I’m just trying to play ball.”<\/p>\n

Luckily, the tempers subsided and Hutchinson was okay.<\/p>\n
