A couple of changes figure to come out of the Commanders\u2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/josh-conerly-jr-1.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_cfb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Josh Conerly Jr.<\/a> draft choice. The Browns and Texans <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/04\/draft-trade-notes-chargers-campbell-loveland-cowboys-ravens-conerly\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">attempted to trade up for Conerly<\/a>, but the Commanders ended up with the two-year Oregon left tackle starter at No. 29. Washington GM Adam Peters said (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/john_keim\/status\/1915618220167307448\" rel=\"nofollow\">via ESPN.com\u2019s John Keim<\/a>) Conerly could play tackle or guard as a rookie.<\/p>\n<p>Washington, which let <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LucaCo01.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cornelius Lucas<\/a> walk in free agency (to Cleveland), had already <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/04\/nfc-draft-rumors-cardinals-bears-loveland-warren-campbell-commanders-coleman-panthers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">planned to move primary 2024 LT<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=ColeBr02,ColeBr00&amp;search=Brandon+Coleman&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brandon Coleman<\/a> to RT before the draft. Two-year RT starter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WyliAn00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Andrew Wylie<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/03\/commanders-andrew-wylie-accepts-pay-cut\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">accepted a pay cut this offseason<\/a>, and his past as a guard could become relevant again. Wylie has only played RT over the past four seasons, but the ex-Chief worked almost exclusively at guard from 2018-20. Wylie and potentially Coleman could be in the guard mix if Conerly stays at tackle opposite new LT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/T\/TunsLa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Laremy Tunsil<\/a>. The Commanders have ex-Chief <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/AlleNi00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nick Allegretti<\/a> at LG and a rehabbing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CosmSa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sam Cosmi<\/a> at RG; the latter\u2019s spot obviously will not be in jeopardy once he recovers <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/01\/commanders-fear-significant-knee-injury-for-rg-sam-cosmi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">from his January ACL tear<\/a>, but he will not be a lock to avoid the PUP list to open the season.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the latest from O-lines around the league:<\/p>\n<p>The Dolphins are slotting second-round pick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/jonah-savaiinaea-1.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_cfb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jonah Savaiinaea<\/a> at guard, per GM Chris Grier, who expects (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/sports\/nfl\/miami-dolphins\/article302588629.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">via the Miami Herald\u2019s Barry Jackson<\/a>) the No. 37 overall pick to start from Day 1. Miami <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/04\/dolphins-acquire-no-37-from-raiders\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">traded up for the Arizona product<\/a>, outflanking the Patriots, who were (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/flasportsbuzz\/status\/1916877090382610453\" rel=\"nofollow\">via the Boston Sports Journal\u2019s Greg Bedard<\/a>) believed to be eyeing him at No. 38. Savaiinaea will likely be set to displace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/EichLi00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Liam Eichenberg<\/a>, who played all five O-line spots during his Dolphins rookie deal. Eichenberg, a 2021 second-round pick who re-signed <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/03\/dolphins-to-re-sign-ol-liam-eichenberg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">on a one-year deal worth $2.23MM<\/a>, is now set to operate as a swingman behind new starters Savaiinaea and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DaniJa01.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">James Daniels<\/a>.<br \/>\nSeattle will use its first-round pick, Grey Zabel, at guard, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6307846\/2025\/04\/25\/grey-zabel-seahawks-nfl-draft-steve-hutchinson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Athletic\u2019s Michael-Shawn Dugar notes<\/a>. As our Ely Allen <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/04\/pro-football-rumors-2025-nfl-mock-draft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">noted in his mock draft<\/a>, the North Dakota State product played across the O-line with the Bison. Zabel saw time at both guard spots and each tackle position in college, and a center NFL future came up as well. The Seahawks, who did not allocate much in the way of resources to guard following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/L\/LewiDa05.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Damien Lewis<\/a>\u2018 2024 exit, are set to place Zabel at LG, per Hall of Fame ex-Seahawk guard Steve Hutchinson (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BradyHenderson\/status\/1917264384751173874\" rel=\"nofollow\">h\/t ESPN.com\u2019s Brady Henderson<\/a>). The latter being in a contract year opens the door for an early-career move into the starting lineup, should Mbow prove ready.<br \/>\nBears second-round pick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cfb\/players\/ozzy-trapilo-1.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_cfb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ozzy Trapilo<\/a> served as Boston College\u2019s RT starter in 2023 and \u201924. Chicago <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/04\/2025-nfl-draft-results-by-round\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">choosing Trapilo at No. 56<\/a> points to him being eyed as a 2026 starter, as LT starter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneBr08.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Braxton Jones<\/a> is in a contract year. Ryan Poles said during a Kap &amp; J-Hood ESPN 1000 interview (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CourtneyRCronin\/status\/1917969192818479266\" rel=\"nofollow\">h\/t ESPN.com\u2019s Courtney Cronin<\/a>) the Bears will begin Trapilo at LT this offseason. That opens the door to starter work while Jones recovers from ankle surgery; Chicago\u2019s three-year LT is <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.profootballrumors.com\/2025\/04\/bears-lt-braxton-jones-expected-to-be-limited-in-training-camp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">expected to miss training camp time<\/a>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HaveRo00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-05-06_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Rob Havenstein<\/a> joins Jones in recovering from surgery, confirming (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JourdanRodrigue\/status\/1914414587161788548\" rel=\"nofollow\">via The Athletic\u2019s Jourdan Rodrigue<\/a>) he underwent cleanup procedures on both shoulders. Havenstein, 33 next week, will miss some offseason time but is not expected to be sidelined to start training camp.
