LaNorris Sellers is expected to take a major leap in 2025 as the starting quarterback at South Carolina<\/a>, and should also put himself in the conversation to be a first-round pick in next year’s draft.<\/p>\n

There will be plenty of quarterback-needy teams in the 2026 draft, and Bleacher Report’s\u00a0Brent Sobleski<\/a> predicts Sellers will land with the Las Vegas Raiders, who are projected to land a top-ten pick.<\/p>\n

“[Geno]\u00a0Smith turns 36 next season. He could be the perfect mentor for a young, developmental quarterback for a year, with the franchise able to move on in 2027 since the veteran signal-caller doesn’t have any remaining guaranteed money on his deal by that point,” Sobleski wrote.<\/p>\n

Sellers had a promising 2024 campaign, tossing 18 touchdowns to seven interceptions with a\u00a065.6% completion rate.<\/a> He also added 674 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.<\/p>\n

If Sellers can build off a solid season last year and show even more growth in 2025, the 20-year-old could easily be one of the top quarterbacks in the upcoming draft.<\/p>\n

Landing with a team that already has an established veteran would be beneficial for Sellers, as he is still a raw talent who needs development. The Raiders have Geno Smith under contract until 2028<\/a>, and are unlikely to move on from him after just one season, unless 2025 goes horribly wrong.<\/p>\n

Sitting Sellers behind Smith would be a savvy move by Las Vegas, as it would give the franchise a quarterback for the present and the future. Smith would also be an ideal mentor for Sellers due to his experience.<\/p>\n

Overall, Sellers has the tools and athletic ability to be a difference-maker in the NFL. The Raiders still need a long-term answer at quarterback who provides some excitement, and Sellers fits that mold.<\/p>\n
