Jared Goff said his phone was ringing off the hook after Taylor Swift mentioned the Lions quarterback during her internet-breaking appearance<\/a> on the \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast <\/a>Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Swift, 35, mentioned Goff and Bills quarterback Josh Allen while explaining that she had little knowledge about football until she got together with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce<\/a> in 2023.<\/p>\n

After that, Goff, who looked down at his phone, said he went through \u201ca crazy couple hours.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s pretty crazy, huh?\u201d he said, smiling. \u201cVery cool, I guess. That was a crazy couple hours for me and my phone. I was like, \u2018Oh, ok,\u2019 but yeah kinda cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift, who revealed her new album<\/a>, \u201cThe Life of a Showgirl,\u201d will drop Oct. 3, said she wasn\u2019t super familiar with the sport until Kelce, 35, came into her life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought everyone was there [on the field] at the same time,\u201d Swift said<\/a>. \u201c\u2026 I thought it was like, Jared Goff is here and Josh Allen is here and [the referee] is gonna blow a whistle and then they go at each other, and it\u2019s like, who\u2019s gonna win?\u201d<\/p>\n

Retired Eagles legend Jason Kelce, who co-hosts the \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast alongside his younger brother, chimed in.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, I would love to see Jared Goff play some defense. Let\u2019s see Jared Goff on defense,\u201d Jason, 37, said, laughing.<\/p>\n

Swift caught on quickly, saying she\u2019s \u201cobsessed\u201d with the sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know what a first down was, I didn\u2019t know what the chains were, I didn\u2019t know what a tight end was,\u201d she said. \u201cI fell in love with it. I became obsessed with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift added that she has great respect for NFL players and the pressure they endure in the sport.<\/p>\n

The 14-time Grammy winner also\u00a0called out male sports fans<\/a>\u00a0for complaining she\u2019s given too much TV time during Chiefs games.<\/p>\n

Swift attended her first Chiefs game<\/a> in September 2023 and has supported Kansas City at home and on the road the past two seasons.<\/p>\n

Kelce, now entering his 13th season with the Chiefs, will travel to Brazil for the team\u2019s season opener against the Chargers on Sept. 5.<\/p>\n
