The San Francisco 49ers have a banged up roster right now, and it took another hit over the weekend against Pete Carroll\u2019s Las Vegas Raiders.<\/p>\n
Second-year starting right guard Dominick Puni, one of the bright spots of an otherwise grim 2024 season for the 49ers, is expected to miss multiple weeks with a suspected PCL injury. It appears the injury occurred after he was rolled up on during Jake Moody\u2019s first quarter field goal attempt.<\/p>\n

\u201cDominick Puni left with a knee, never returned. He will be a few weeks, possible PCL,\u201d Kyle Shanahan told reporters after the game.<\/p>\n
Puni was selected in the third round, five picks after the Seattle Seahawks took Christian Haynes. Not only did Puni win the starting job, he started all 17 regular season games and made the PFWA All-Rookie Team. While Shanahan didn\u2019t rule out Puni playing against the Seahawks, \u201cfew weeks\u201d when the season is three weeks away makes it a tight timeline.<\/p>\n
We already know the 49ers won\u2019t have star receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who\u2019s still recovering from an ACL and MCL tear, while rookie defensive tackle C.J. West and edge rusher Mykel Williams are dealing with short-term hyper-extended knees.<\/p>\n
