Re-selling Georgia football <\/a>student tickets isn\u2019t permitted.<\/p>\n

Now, UGA is taking greater steps to keep it from happening.<\/p>\n

Students this season are being asked to bring a form of photo ID to each of the seven Bulldog home games <\/a>and some be will randomly selected with what the school said will be \u201cspot checks,\u201d to match their ID to the name on individual tickets.<\/p>\n

If Georgia<\/a> determines a student ticket was sold, the student ticket package will be voided and removed for the rest of the season and the students found to not have their name match the ticket will be asked to leave.<\/p>\n

Georgia athletics, via an email to the Athens Banner-Herald, said that its top priority is to make sure tickets are affordable for UGA students \u201cand to maximize opportunities for our students to attend football games. We have the best student section in the nation and want to keep it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Student tickets that are re-sold could go to an Ole Miss fan when the Rebels come to town or an Alabama fan when the Crimson Tide visit.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also want to make sure that tickets are going to UGA students and not fans of other teams,\u201d said Georgia, which indicated it collaborates with the UGA student government on student ticket policies.<\/p>\n

Tickets that are returned by students who can\u2019t use them go into a donation pool which the school gives to students who did not receive certain games in their split ticket package.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last two years this donation pool has allowed us to give back to seniors who received split packages for every home game,\u201d the school said.<\/p>\n

Georgia had allotted about 16,000 student tickets per game, the school said prior to the 2024 season but declined when asked for this story to offer numbers now or how many students have been found to be re-selling tickets.<\/p>\n

Student ticket applications opened on Aug. 13 and run through Aug. 20 at noon.<\/p>\n

While the get-in price on SeatGeek for nonconference games is $56 against Marshall and $50 against Austin Peay and Charlotte, it is $236 against Ole Miss, $536 against Texas and $650 against Alabama.<\/p>\n

A full student season ticket package costs $80 for all seven games.<\/p>\n

A four-game package of Marshall, Austin Peay, Kentucky and Texas is $50 and a 3-game package of Alabama, Ole Miss and Charlotte is $40.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Re-selling Georgia football student tickets isn\u2019t permitted.
