During his press conference on Monday, Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> head coach Andy Reid revealed his plan for the young left side of the offensive line, which features Josh Simmons and Kingsley Suamataia.<\/p>\n

“So you’re in this thing long enough, you’re gonna have a changeover, and you’ve got young guys that have got to step up and they gotta play. So he wants to be good and is working at it. Both of them are that way.” said Reid, “Both of them are high draft picks, so you got to get in, and you got to go, and you’re going to live with a few things, but it’s you expect to see constant growth as you go, similar to what we did with the secondary two years ago. A lot of young guys, and early on, it wasn’t quite as pretty as it was at the end.”<\/p>\n

Simmons is the runaway favorite to start at left tackle as the team’s first-round pick in April’s NFL Draft. Suamataia was the second-round pick the previous season and is adjusting to his new position as a left guard.<\/p>\n

“You can see it more in the run game right now, where they’re really working well together,” said, “And then the pass game, both of them are kind of feeling that part out. They’re doing a good job.”<\/p>\n

Reid maintains confidence in the young duo as they approach the last preseason game on Friday against the Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n
