In the new spots, Campbell has the \u201cadded duties of coaching\/managing Applebee\u2019s two new recruits\u201d &#8212; Texans QB C.J. Stroud and Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty. Together, they \u201cform the ultimate trio\u201d that promotes Applebee\u2019s own \u201cUltimate Trio\u201d combination. Campbell\u2019s role is \u201ca bit of a departure from the resounding performance he delivered last year as the quintessential coach and earnest motivator.\u201d This year\u2019s ads \u201cfocus less on Campbell\u2019s character\u201d and \u201cmore on promoting the restaurant\u2019s extensive list of appetizers\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/sports\/columnists\/carlos-monarrez\/2025\/08\/18\/dan-campbell-applebees-commercials-lions\/85656042007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/sports\/columnists\/carlos-monarrez\/2025\/08\/18\/dan-campbell-applebees-commercials-lions\/85656042007\/\">DETROIT FREE PRESS, 8\/18<\/a>).
