The Cowboys<\/a> are getting their fastball ready. On Tuesday, it was announced that key Dallas rookie running back, Jaydon Blue, is back healthy and ready to begin his pro career <\/a>on Friday in the team’s final exhibition game against the Atlanta Falcons.<\/p>\n

Blue was a full participant in the evening practice, which was open to the public as the team worked in Texas for the first time this offseason, and has indicated he is a full go.<\/p>\n

Having suffered a bruised foot\/ankle nearly two weeks ago in Oxnard, the rookie fifth-round pick has been sidelined from practice, and any preseason action, ever since, but he returned to the former when the Cowboys got underway with padded practices at the team’s headquarters in North Texas.<\/p>\n

Blue was a full participant and looked back to his usual self, and with no restrictions or limitations, also revealing he’s been medically cleared to take on the Falcons.<\/p>\n

Blue is expected to be the change-of-pace back in a running back committee in Dallas. Javonte Williams is the most likely lead back, but Blue’s ability to turn any touch into a big gain will likely mean Brian Schottenheimer will deploy him immediately in the regular season as the team looks to lean on a dominant running game to take pressure off of quarterback Dak Prescott.<\/p>\n

Blue has ability as both a runner and a pass catcher, with blazing speed that will look to take advantage of opposing defenses needing to key in on the wideout duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, as well as the speed of Kavontae Turpin. Adding Blue to that mix of playmakers could help the Cowboys return to the top of the NFL’s production charts.<\/p>\n
