But his return to his longtime former desk on Monday was perfect.<\/p>\n<p>ESPN brought out some old-school graphics and music for Eisen\u2019s introduction. During the introduction, Eisen said, \u201cThis show is all about strolling down memory lane,\u201d later adding, \u201cIt\u2019s about throwing a whole bunch at you while having an old school good time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then it was time to <a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/espn\/rich-eisen-sportscenter-monday-aug-18.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">start the show<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHey there,\u201d Eisen said. \u201cSaying this for the first time in 22 years, welcome to SportsCenter, alongside all of you, I am Rich Eisen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The Rich Eisen return to SportsCenter on ESPN even features an old-school SportsCenter intro.<\/p>\n<p>(You can read more about Eisen hosting tonight\u2019s SportsCenter here: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9wMEdkxOQd\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/9wMEdkxOQd<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Wxn12gncv3\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/Wxn12gncv3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/awfulannouncing\/status\/1957641737142432201?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">August 19, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Eisen then moved to his interview with ESPN\u2019s Monday Night Football announcers, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. He started with a \u201cstroll down memory lane,\u201d going back to when he first began hosting SportsCenter in 1996. That was Buck\u2019s first year calling the World Series on Fox, as Eisen remembered, with visuals. There were also visuals for Aikman in 1996, as he was still quarterbacking the Dallas Cowboys, one year after winning his third Super Bowl.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, the Cowboys actually did play in a Super Bowl,\u201d Aikman quipped.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Rich Eisen interviews Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on SportsCenter, first remembering where they were in 1996 (which features visuals of Joe calling MLB for Fox). <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/beaPmgKrSE\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/beaPmgKrSE<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/WEbQ7lAZbB\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/WEbQ7lAZbB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/awfulannouncing\/status\/1957643791256723925?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">August 19, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p>More flashbacks came when Eisen did the highlights for Monday night\u2019s preseason game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Commanders. He shouted out Chris Berman, even mimicking his voice.
