The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> made a league-high 11 selections during the 2025 NFL draft<\/a>. A 10-win veteran team in 2024, the Seahawks shouldn’t require all 11 rookies to play sizable roles this coming season. Instead, general manager John Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald possess the benefit of bringing some of these first-year players along slowly.<\/p>\n

We’ve identified three Seahawks rookies who should essentially redshirt in 2025.<\/p>\n

Jalen Milroe, QB<\/p>\n

Jalen Milroe<\/a> is an athletic, but developmental dual-threat quarterback. A raw athlete, Milroe must develop into a more efficient passer. The Seahawks have Sam Darnold and Drew Lock at QB, meaning they shouldn’t expect their rookie signal caller to accelerate his process.<\/p>\n

Bryce Cabeldue, OL<\/p>\n

The Seahawks showed consistent interest in Bryce Cabeldue<\/a>, who they drafted in the sixth round. Cabeldue is making the transition from college tackle to pro guard. Macdonald possesses a ton of young interior blockers on the roster, so there’s no need to rush his acclimation.<\/p>\n

Ricky White III, WR<\/p>\n

Ricky White III<\/a> was the last of Seattle’s 11 draft picks. He was also the second receiver following the selection of Tory Horton<\/a> in the fifth round. There’s back-end competition at wideout on the Seahawks’ roster, meaning White III may have to develop on the practice squad before receiving his first opportunity.<\/p>\n
