Now, the picture is a little more murky since the team drafted two quarterbacks, putting four on the roster when teams typically only keep two or three guys. Who will be the odd man out? We shall see — but contract situations may play a role in that too.

Let’s look at the contract details for Flacco. Remember, this is first time he’s signed a deal with Cleveland in an offseason — in 2023, he was added by the team midseason.

QB Joe Flacco’s Contract, Cap Hits Per Year

          Year

          Base Salary

          Signing Bonus

          Roster Bonus

          Per Game

          Total Cap Hit

          Year

          Base Salary

          Signing Bonus

          Roster Bonus

          Per Game

          Total Cap Hit

            2025

            $1,255,000

            $349,000

            $250,000

            $1,000,000

            $2,854,000

            2026

            $0

            $349,000

            $0

            $0

            $1,396,000

            2027

            $0

            $349,000

            $0

            $0

            $0

            2028

            $0

            $349,000

            $0

            $0

            $0

            2029

            $0

            $349,000

            $0

            $0

            $0

            Total

            $1,255,000

            $1,745,000

            $250,000

            $1,000,000

            $4,250,000

The contract is a 1-year deal worth $4.25 million. He is getting the minimum base salary ($1.255 million), and his signing bonus of $1.745 million is spread out over five years (four of which are void years).
If Flacco is still on the 90-man roster for the last game of the season, he will get a $250,000 roster bonus. In addition, he has a $58,823 per-game bonus for every game that he is active. When you multiply that times 17 games, that means he can earn up to $1 million via that bonus.
Flacco’s total cap hit for this season is $2.854 million. When his contract voids on the final day of the league year, the Browns will carry $1.396 million in dead cap for Flacco in 2026.

According to multiple reports, Flacco also has several incentives that he can earn. That includes the following:

He’ll earn $75,000 per game in which he took 50% of the snaps and the Browns were victorious in the game. However, the first three instances that this happens, he will not earn the bonus. He’ll only earn it upon the fourth occurrence, and then also every instance thereafter.
If Flacco plays 80% or more of the snaps this season, he’ll earn a $1.5 million bonus. If it’s 70% to 79.9%, it’s only a $1 million bonus. And if it’s 60% to 69.9%, it’s a $500,000 bonus. In any of those bonus scenarios, if the Browns also clinch a playoff spot, the value of the bonus that Flacco earned will be doubled.
If Flacco plays 50% of the snaps in a Wild Card win, he gets $250,000. If he plays 50% of the snaps in a Divisional win, he gets $500,000. If it’s a Conference Championship win, it’s a $1 million bonus. A Super Bowl win is a $2 million bonus.
Lastly, if he is named to either the 1st- or 2nd-team All-Pro, he gets a $500,000 bonus.

Many Cleveland Browns fans were ecstatic when the team finally went out and signed veteran QB Joe Flacco…

[2054
86,93,85,54,1864,1695,2337,4092,92,2955,4778,7,29,723,1573,3771,3388,94,6,396,1199
0":"post-30593","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-cleveland-browns","8":"tag-browns","9":"tag-by","10":"tag-cleveland","11":"tag-cleveland-browns","12":"tag-cleveland-browns-news","13":"tag-cleveland-browns-roster-players","14":"tag-clevelandbrowns","15":"tag-contract","16":"tag-dawgs","17":"tag-does","18":"tag-flacco","19":"tag-football","20":"tag-front-page","21":"tag-in","22":"tag-joe","23":"tag-like","24":"tag-look","25":"tag-nature","26":"tag-nfl","27":"tag-s","28":"tag-what
["GET
