The Atlanta Falcons<\/a> worked out a few free-agent edge rushers this past week before opting to sign former third-round pick Ronnie Perkins<\/a> to their 90-man roster. The team also hosted Ron Stone<\/a> and Khalid Duke<\/a> on free-agent visits, per the NFL’s transaction wire.<\/p>\n

Stone, an undrafted free agent out of Washington State, signed with the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> in 2024 but was later waived with an injury designation. In his final collegiate season, Stone recorded five sacks and 11 tackles for loss. The former Cougar has not played in an NFL regular season game.<\/p>\n

Duke, 24, is a former undrafted free agent out of Kansas State<\/a>. During his senior season in college, he racked up six sacks and one forced fumble. Duke played in two games for the Tennessee Titans<\/a> last season.<\/p>\n

While Stone and Duke left Atlanta without a contract, don’t be surprised if either player returns at some point. The Falcons are dealing with a few injuries along their offensive line. Right tackle Kaleb McGary<\/a> is expected to “miss time” due to a leg injury that he suffered during Wednesday’s practice.<\/p>\n

According to a report from ESPN, backup offensive linemen Storm Norton<\/a> is set to miss time following an ankle surgery. Norton could be out six-to-eight weeks, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. With McGary potentially out and Norton likely to miss the first few weeks of the season, the Falcons are suddenly very thin at the offensive tackle position.<\/p>\n

The team has yet to provide a clear update on either player, but we would expect to see an injury designation in the next few days. Atlanta is set to play its preseason finale against the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> on Friday night, then the team must cut its roster down to 53 players<\/a> by Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
