The Detroit Lions have held their final practice of the preseason, a joint practice with the Houston Texans. Thursday was Day 17 of Lions training camp, and we have all the latest updates on the players\u2019 injuries and their current statuses.<\/p>\n

G Miles Frazier (PUP)DT Alim McNeill (PUP)EDGE Josh Paschal (NFI) \u2014 \u201ccould be a little later than we\u2019d hoped\u201d<\/a>LB Malcolm Rodriguez (PUP)<\/p>\n

At the beginning of training camp, Lions coach Dan Campbell informed the media that he was hoping that Josh Paschal would be able to return from the NFI list in September. Unfortunately, Campbell gave an update on Paschal at his Thursday morning press conference, acknowledging he was not rehabilitating as fast as they\u2019d hoped.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Paschal could be a little later than we\u2019d hoped,\u201d Lions coach Dan Campbell said on Thursday. \u201cSo that could sting a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

While not definitive, that likely means Paschal will start the season on the NFI, meaning he\u2019ll likely have to miss the first four games of the season, at a minimum. The same logic can be applied to Frazier, who has also missed every practice of training camp. As for McNeill and Rodriguez, both were expected to stay on the PUP to start the season, as October has always been their target return-to-play date.<\/p>\n

Not practicing on Thursday:<\/p>\n

OL Trystan Colon (elbow)EDGE Ahmed Hassanein (pec) \u2014 has avoided surgery<\/a><\/p>\n

Colon and Hassanein continue to miss practices. Both absences have been expected, and they remain candidates to be placed on \u201cinjured reserve-return\u201d at cutdowns. However, it\u2019s worth noting that Colon was working with a trainer on Thursday with a big brace on his arm.<\/p>\n

Return to practice\/status change<\/p>\n

WR Malik Taylor (undisclosed)DL Mekhi Wingo (knee)NT Brodric Martin (undisclosed)CB Khalil Dorsey (leg)SAF Kerby Joseph (undisclosed)SAF Morice Norris (concussion)<\/p>\n

Wingo and Dorsey returned to practice earlier this week but have been limited to individual and group work only.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s doing individuals, some group, he\u2019s not going to get any team this week,\u201d Campbell said of Wingo. \u201cSo, that makes (evaluating his ability to contribute) even harder, but we\u2019ll see. We\u2019ll see. At some point, we\u2019re going to need him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor returned Thursday after missing a few sessions.<\/p>\n

Joseph was able to return to practice on Thursday, as Campbell had suggested earlier this week, and he didn\u2019t waste much time jumping back into the action, even securing an interception during 7-on-7s.<\/p>\n

Norris remains in the NFL concussion protocol, but he was on the field for the second straight day getting work with trainers.<\/p>\n

OL Graham Glasgow (lower leg)RB Sione Vaki (undisclosed)<\/p>\n

During the last team series of practice, Glasgow appeared to injure his lower leg and needed to be tended to by trainers. He moved behind the players running the drill and exited to the locker room under his own power. The Lions informed the media that Glasgow was indeed being evaluated for a lower leg injury, but no further comment was made at this time.<\/p>\n

Of note: Kingsley Eguakun stepped in at center with the starters in Glasgow\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n

Vaki was also apparently injured, as he was seen walking off with trainers, but the details surrounding the injury are not clear, and the Lions did not provide an update after practice on his status.<\/p>\n
