Carolina Panthers<\/a> outside linebacker Princely Umanmielen may have learned a painful lesson on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

The rookie pass rusher was knocked out of the team’s preseason finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a shoulder injury. Umanmielen, following the eventual 19-10 loss<\/a>, told reporters that initial X-rays on the shoulder came back negative and that he’s set to undergo an MRI on Friday.<\/p>\n

“They didn’t see anything, like, out of place or anything like that,” he said<\/a>. “So I should be good.”<\/p>\n

He also, per Joe Person of The Athletic, said this . . .<\/p>\n

Steelers tight end Darnell Washington stands at 6-foot-7 and 264 pounds. So, yeah, that’s a lot of butt to block.<\/p>\n

Umanmielen then took to Twitter\/X shortly after and posted the following . . .<\/p>\n

The Panthers are also currently dealing with an injury to fellow rookie outside linebacker and Day 2 pick Nic Scourton, who suffered a collapsed lung<\/a> during their joint practice with the Houston Texans<\/a> two weeks ago.<\/p>\n
