The Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> can’t seem to get out of being involved in trade ideas surrounding wide receivers and the Green Bay Packers can’t seem to get away from the idea of trading Romeo Doubs. Here, those ideas come together.<\/p>\n

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report<\/a> suggests that the two sides agree to this deal ahead of the 2025 season. The Packers, who have a group of receivers that is both young and deep, move on from their former fourth-round pick in Doubs and send him to sunny L.A. where he can catch passes from Justin Herbert.<\/p>\n

“The Packers had a crowded receivers room heading into the offseason and amplified the issue by taking two wideouts early in the 2025 draft. It’s clear something has to give, making the potential for a Romeo Doubs move seem rather likely.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has been a consistent piece in Green Bay’s system since he joined in 2022, but he was\u00a0suspended a game<\/a>\u00a0for skipping practices due to discontent with his limited role in 2024. The veteran’s looks only project to diminish further this season, a potentially messy situation that the Packers should look to avoid.<\/p>\n

With Mike Williams surprisingly retiring shortly after joining the team, the Chargers should be willing to take a chance on Doubs blossoming in their offense. It remains to be seen how much Keenan Allen has left in the tank and proven depth looks shaky behind breakout star Ladd McConkey in the receiving corps”, wrote Kay.<\/p>\n

Proven depth is a question for the Chargers, but high hopes have been placed on second-round pick Tre Harris. However, with Quentin Johnston being knocked out of last week’s preseason game and underachieving thus far in his career, there could be room for a guy like Doubs.<\/p>\n

The best part of Kay’s proposal is the Chargers getting him for a seventh-round pick. A guy who is still only 25 years old and has 147 career receptions for 1,700 yards is worth a seventh-round pick… easily.<\/p>\n

It does seem like a good bet that the Packers will move Doubs somewhere and if the Chargers would like to get one more solid target for Herbert while they can, this could be a great deal if it were to come to fruition.<\/p>\n
