Best NFC 2025 NFL Draft picks<\/p>\n

USA TODAY’s Tyler Dragon breaks down which teams in the NFC drafted the best this year.<\/p>\n

The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> finished tied with the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> atop the NFC West at 10-7 in 2024 but the Rams won the division title on tiebreakers and Seattle missed out on the playoffs for the third time in the last four years.<\/p>\n

Despite that 10-win season, the Seahawks<\/a> underwent more significant changes this offseason than almost any other team in the NFL. Seattle will have new faces on the offensive coaching staff, notably new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak<\/a> and run game coordinator Rick Dennison.<\/p>\n

Those changes include the roster as well. Seattle traded longtime starter Geno Smith<\/a> to Las Vegas for a third-round draft pick<\/a>. Smith went 28-24 as a starter for the Seahawks since taking over the starting job in 2022. The team also dealt top wide receiver DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> for a draft pick.<\/p>\n

Seattle signed top free-agent quarterback Sam Darnold<\/a> to replace Smith starting this season. The Seahawks signed new wide receivers for him to throw to in Cooper Kupp<\/a> and Marquez Valdes-Scantling<\/a>. On defense, Seattle brought in DeMarcus Lawrence<\/a> as another veteran presence for the pass rush.<\/p>\n

Seattle focused on offense in the draft starting in Round 1, by selecting offensive lineman\u00a0Grey Zabel<\/a>, who should upgrade what was one of the worst interior offensive lines in the league a year ago. The Seahawks invested in the skill positions by selecting tight end Elijah Arroyo<\/a> (Round 2), wide receivers Tory Horton<\/a> (Round 5) and Ricky White III<\/a> (Round 7) and running back Damien Martinez<\/a> (Round 7).<\/p>\n

Things could look much different in year two under Macdonald with Kubiak at the helm of the offense. After competing for the NFC West in 2024, they may be in contention for their first division title since 2020.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks face their NFC West foes twice in 2025 (once each at home and on the road). This year, Seattle also faces the AFC South and NFC South because of the NFL’s rotating yearly schedule.<\/p>\n

Seattle will also face the Vikings, Steelers and Commanders because they all finished second in their respective divisions in 2024.<\/p>\n

When is the 2025 NFL schedule release?<\/p>\n

All 18 weeks of the regular season schedule will be released on Wednesday, May 14. That release will include full schedules for all 32 franchises.<\/p>\n

Fans can expect the release in the evening.
