The Cincinnati Bengals wrapped up Game 2 of their 2025 preseason with a 31-17 road win over the Washington Commanders on Monday night at Northwest Stadium.<\/p>\n
After an impressive but short appearance by Joe Burrow, who threw for 62 yards on 9-of-14 passing with one touchdown across the first three offensive series for the Bengals, Jake Browning relieved him in the second quarter.<\/p>\n

Browning looked good, leading the Cincinnati offense on a six-play, 60-yard touchdown drive and then a one-play, 21-yard touchdown pass to Mitchell Tinsley after a Barrett Carter interception of Sam Hartman.<\/p>\n
Former Texas Tech Red Raider back Tahj Brooks impressed with 47 yards on 11 carries while Tinsley led all Bengals receivers with 73 yards on five catches.<\/p>\n
Both Commanders quarterbacks, Josh Johnson and Sam Hartman, threw interceptions on the night, while Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jayden Daniels both ran in touchdowns on the ground for Washington. Daniels did not attempt a pass in the game.<\/p>\n

Chris Rodriguez Jr. led all Commanders with 62 yards on six carries while Jaylin Lane had 42 yards on three receptions for Washington.<\/p>\n
Bengals coach Zac Taylor was criticized for leaving Burrow in the game for an extended time, and the former LSU Tiger took a couple of hits, much to the chagrin of Taylor.<\/p>\n
“Do I love seeing that? No. I don’t. But, that’s why he’s playing…to feel what it’s like in a game,” Taylor noted after the game.<\/p>\n

Next up, the Bengals will host the Indianapolis Colts in their preseason finale, which will also be their first home game of the preseason, at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday.<\/p>\n
