There are numerous takeaways to evaluate, and predicting some of the toughest roster cuts Joe Schoen and the Giants will make is a key consideration.

Jaxson Dart Leaves Giants Fans at Ease With Solid Start

One of the main stories in the first two weeks has been Dart’s strong play. This week was no different.

Although the stat line may say otherwise, this was arguably his most accurate performance. He finished the night throwing 6/12 for 81 yards and a touchdown. His most impressive throws will not show up on the stat sheet for him, as they were dropped.

His performance this preseason has made Giants fans restless for the future. He showed good arm strength, confidence, pocket movement, and mobility. There is still much to work on, but this is an extremely hopeful start for the rookie.

Evan Neal Back to His Old Ways

After an encouraging first game at right guard, Neal follows it up with an embarrassing second game.

He gave up multiple quick pressures and blunders in the run game. His primary concern has always been staying in front of quick players. In this game, he struggled to keep anyone in front of him.

Neal’s poor play has more than likely shut the door on the possibility of him starting the season at right guard over Greg Van Roten. Even though there is always a chance to play in the regular season due to injuries, it’s hard to imagine him sustaining a long career at the position.

Tight End Room is Full of Depth

The tight ends have flourished this month. They have been capable of successful screen plays, contested red zone catches, and finding the open area on a seam route.

The Giants’ tight end room will likely feature Theo Johnson as the starter, with Greg Dulcich, Thomas Fidone II, and Daniel Bellinger behind him.

All of these tight ends show the ability to be on the field at any point in the regular season. The athleticism they possess is a dangerous weapon for creative offensive minds, Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka.

The Giants have shown that their tight end depth is among the elite in the NFL.

Have the Giants Found Their New Fullback?

The Giants have gone years without using a fullback, but with the experiments they have been running this preseason, this may change.

They have been running defensive tackle Elijah Chatman at fullback, and he has been a bulldozer. Chatman lives for contact. He runs to the nearest defender and lays the biggest hit he can, and it is usually a success.

For how well this test run has gone, it is worth a shot to give Chatman a chance on offense come regular season.

Alexander was someone all Giants have high hopes for, thought to be a must-watch player in the preseason.

To everyone’s disappointment, he didn’t make a difference. He provided minimal pass rush and was not a run stuffer. His scarce impact made his presence feel mostly unnoticed on the field.

It’s never wise to put much stock into preseason, but this start to Alexander’s career is anything but promising.

The Three Toughest Cuts

There will be plenty of tough cuts for the Giants to make, but there are three names that will turn the most heads.

The first name is quarterback Tommy DeVito.

There was a thought that he would stay on the roster, with Jameis Winston drawing trade interest. After the reports that they are not interested in trading him, Devito is the odd man out. Even after his eight starts for the team and an excellent game against the Patriots, he is likely gone.

The second name is training camp standout Beaux Collins.

Collins has shown flashes, like his 80-yard catch against the New York Jets, but he has had too many mistakes. He has been on the other end of two interceptions caused by a miscommunication between him and the quarterback, along with his brutal drops.

Jameis Winston is intercepted by Kyle Dugger in the end zone.

Giants still lead 14-3 over the Patriots in the 2nd.

Seems like some miscommunication with him and Beaux Collins on that play. pic.twitter.com/dAL3QxtHFH

— Doug Rush (@TheDougRush) August 22, 2025

The final cut is returner and corner Dee Williams.

The Giants had high hopes for him as a return man or backup, but he has shown few flashes there. At the corner position, he gives up numerous catches and is nothing special as a tackler. His inability to turn his head when targeted makes him a constant liability on the field.

Roster cuts are always one of the most interesting parts of the season, and choosing who goes to the practice squad is a pivotal move to prepare for the regular season.

The New York Giants have finished undefeated in the preseason, capping it off with a 42-10 victory over…

[2067
51704,4552,198,7,519,16744,1917,56,2321,2469,6,691
0":"post-310501","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-york-giants","8":"tag-2025-nfl-preseason","9":"tag-evan-neal","10":"tag-featured","11":"tag-football","12":"tag-giants","13":"tag-jalin-hyatt","14":"tag-new-york","15":"tag-new-york-giants","16":"tag-newyork","17":"tag-newyorkgiants","18":"tag-nfl","19":"tag-trending
["GET
