Pro Football Focus<\/a> has rectified one of the most polarizing Steelers<\/a> draft decisions over the past few years \u2014 the first-round selection of RB Najee Harris<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to PFF’s new 2021 NFL Redraft, written by Max Chadwick, Dalton Wasserman and Trevor Sikkema, the Steelers passed on their four-time 1,000-yard running back in favor of a talented offensive lineman \u2014 C Drew Dalman.<\/p>\n

“With Creed Humphrey developing into far and away the best center from the 2021 class, Dalman hasn\u2019t received the recognition he deserves,” Chadwick, Wasserman, and Sikkema wrote.<\/a> “In the Falcons’ zone-blocking scheme, he posted 0.66 PFF WAR through the first four years of his career. In three of those seasons of play, he earned a 78.0-plus PFF overall grade. And in two, his PFF run-blocking grade surged past 90.0.”<\/p>\n

Drafting Dalman would’ve given Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger a more complete offensive line in his final season, potentially forcing Pittsburgh’s hand to re-sign RB James Conner after passing on Harris.<\/p>\n

After spending four seasons with the Steelers, Harris left Pittsburgh to sign with the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency \u2014 but he may miss time with his new team after sustaining an eye injury from a fireworks-related mishap<\/a>.<\/p>\n
