The San Francisco 49ers<\/a>‘ 2025 preseason is officially in the books after they downed the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> on Saturday night from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., 30-23.<\/p>\n

Along the way, the 49ers sustained several bumps and bruises. 49ers third-string left tackle Isaiah Prince sustained a knee injury, tight end Brayden Willis exited with a neck injury, quarterback Tanner Mordecai exited with an ankle injury but returned and rookie cornerback Jakob Robinson suffered a forearm injury.<\/p>\n

Of those ailments, Robinson’s sounded like the most pressing according to 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan’s postgame remarks. Shanahan said he thinks Robinson broke his forearm.<\/p>\n

“It was at the end of the game, but I think he broke it. You know, he didn’t return… I just got that before I came in. We’ve got to X-ray it for sure and everything, but that’s what it sounded like,” Shanahan said.<\/p>\n

Shanahan was also asked if receiver Jauan Jennings was in jeopardy of missing Week 1.<\/p>\n

“If it doesn’t heal, yes. But, I expect him to be back, I think he should be back from it, but you never know with calves,” Shanahan said.<\/p>\n

Shanahan was asked if he expected Jennings’ calf injury to be this severe when he re-aggravated it in practice.<\/p>\n

“I’m not a doctor, so, like I said, calves take time. You never know with calves,” Shanahan said.<\/p>\n

Shanahan also said that he expects 49ers wide receiver Jacob Cowing to be out for a while with his hamstring injury.<\/p>\n

“Yeah, he pulled it fully. It was the same one, so I think they told me like six weeks to start,” Shanahan said.<\/p>\n

Shanahan also revealed that linebacker Tatum Bethune didn’t play because of a sore back.<\/p>\n

On a positive note, Shanahan said that running back Jordan James is nearing a return, though his status remains week-to-week. Shanahan also said he thinks rookie defensive end Mykel Williams and rookie defensive back Upton Stout back to practice this next week.<\/p>\n

“Really hoping to get those guys back. They haven’t guaranteed it to me, but I think we will. But, I won’t know that officially until tomorrow. I know a lot of them had workouts today and that’s something we’ll discuss tomorrow when we come in,” Shanahan said.<\/p>\n
