McVay commented on Dolac\u2019s absence after the final preseason matchup, saying it was probably \u201ca good sign for him\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll continue to evaluate, but he made his presence felt on [special] teams,\u201d McVay said. \u201cI think he\u2019s played really well for those inside \u2018backers. He\u2019s got a good understanding of what we\u2019re trying to get done, the intent of things. Been really pleased with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
You don\u2019t have to look too far to find a perfect comparison for Dolac\u2019s upward trajectory this preseason. LB Omar Speights was an undrafted preseason superstar last year for LA, becoming arguably the team\u2019s best inside linebacker in 2024 with 67 total tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. Speights now goes into 2025 expected to be one of the team\u2019s starting linebackers, showing the Rams don\u2019t care where you\u2019re drafted, if you can play, they\u2019ll put you on the field.<\/p>\n
Unlike Dolac, this is Lampkin\u2019s second year in the Rams defensive back room after joining the team as an undrafted player last season. Lampkin has been all over the field for Los Angeles, jumping off the screen with some monster hits, and seems to have taken a major step forward in his development.<\/p>\n

The Rams secondary is one of the most questionable position groups on the team, so any success found at that position is one to take note of. While Lampkin is probably not supplanting anyone in a starting role right now, he could find himself in a rotation late in the season if he continues to develop like he has.<\/p>\n Los Angeles currently carries 10 corners so a good chunk of them will probably be released or signed to the practice squad during the team\u2019s efforts to get their 53-man roster intact. Darious Williams, Ahkello Witherspoon, Emmanuel Forbes Jr. and Cobie Durant are all locks to make the team. That leaves probably two more corner spots open. Lampkin should have done enough to have earned one of them, and I expect Derion Kendrick, who was a starter at one point, will get the other.<\/p>\n Admittedly, this is probably the player with the hardest chance to make the roster out of the three listed here. The Rams are just so deep at wide receiver, but the fact that Presley is even being mentioned to make the roster despite that tells you how well he\u2019s played this preseason.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
