Shedeur Sanders<\/a> is one of the NFL\u2019s biggest story lines entering the new campaign even though he\u2019s never played a single professional snap and starts his career as fourth on the Cleveland Browns\u2019 depth chart.<\/p>\n

As the No. 2 overall pick in 2012, Robert Griffin III can sort of relate: He\u2019s a former quarterback who began his career with a lot of attention, though he didn\u2019t do so as the son of a Hall of Famer like Shedeur nor did he fall to the fifth round in the draft<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While Griffin sees Sanders as a player with makeup that can overcome rookie-year challenges<\/a>, he\u2019s worried about what\u2019s to come, writing to Threads on Monday<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Shedeur Sanders is the most popular Rookie in the NFL and is being set up to fail in year 1.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the reality:<\/p>\n

-1st Rd QB tape, but fell to the 5th Rd<\/a><\/p>\n

-4th QB on roster<\/p>\n

-Will get limited practice reps behind 3 QBs the Cleveland Browns acquired this offseason<\/p>\n

-Will get limited preseason reps with worst O-Line and limited weapons<\/p>\n

Griffin was drafted to save the flailing Washington franchise. Then, thanks to injuries and performance, Griffin\u2019s stardom dimmed just as quickly as his dazzling start, and he played a total of 56 games over eight seasons.<\/p>\n

In a different vein, Cleveland is not putting Sanders, whom the New York Giants passed on as their franchise QB<\/a>, in the best position to succeed early in his career thanks to competition. This offseason, they\u2019ve added three other new quarterbacks: Joe Flacco (signing), Kenny Pickett (trade) and Dillon Gabriel (draft, third round).<\/p>\n
