GREEN BAY \u2212 The Green Bay Packers<\/a>‘ initial 53-man roster gets finalized Tuesday, Aug. 26, ahead of their 2025 season opener against the Detroit Lions on Sept. 7.<\/p>\n

Some of those cuts might come Monday, Aug. 25.<\/p>\n

After a month of training camp practices and three preseason games, tough decisions will be made by Packers<\/a> general manager Brian Gutekunst.<\/p>\n

How many quarterbacks will the Packers carry<\/a>? How many wide receivers will they keep? How will the Packers sort out the running back depth chart? Who will provide depth on the offensive line and how does the reported trade for lineman Darian Kinnard<\/a> impact the final cuts?<\/p>\n

The roster deadline is 3 p.m. Aug. 26. Many of the players cut could find their way back to Green Bay as members of the practice squad. Gutekunst can re-sign 16 players to the practice squad starting at 11 a.m. Aug. 27.<\/p>\n

Report: Packers trade draft pick for offensive lineman Darian Kinnard<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Packers<\/a>\u00a0reportedly acquired\u00a0a backup offensive lineman from the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They traded a 2027 sixth-round draft pick for Darian Kinnard, according to a report by ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter. Kinnard was a fifth-round draft pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022 and played as a backup at right guard and right tackle for the Eagles in the preseason.<\/p>\n
