Several young 49ers players have benefited from Deommodore Lenoir’s<\/a> increasing leadership role, including second-year cornerback Renardo Green.<\/a><\/p>\n

After an impressive rookie campaign<\/a>, Green spent part of the offseason in Lenoir’s hometown in Los Angeles, as the two were able to strengthen their bond both on and off the field.<\/p>\n

Green spoke to reporters after 49ers practice Monday and shared what that experience was like.<\/p>\n

“It was good. That’s my boy,” Green said. “We’re brothers. We train together, go to war together. The bonds that you can build off the field are going to show up on the field when he needs my back or I need his. And that goes for anybody on the team. <\/p>\n

“So it was a good experience. That’s my boy. Me and DMo, we good.”<\/p>\n

Entering his fifth NFL season, Lenoir has become a key voice for a young defensive backs room. The 25-year-old has been intentional about guiding younger corners such as Green,\u00a0Chase Lucas<\/a> and\u00a0Jakob Robinson<\/a>\u00a0throughout camp.<\/p>\n

Green made an impact as a rookie for San Francisco when former 49er Charvarius Ward was unavailable last season.<\/p>\n

He suffered a hamstring injury earlier in training camp that kept him sidelined for more than three weeks, but he returned to his spot<\/a> with the 49ers\u2019 first-team defense and appears to be back to full strength with Week 1 looming.<\/p>\n
