Sports journalist Skip Bayless says he\u2019s \u201creally tired\u201d of Taylor Swift<\/a>, Travis Kelce, and even Brittany Mahomes <\/a>\u2014 and so is his wife, Ernestine Sclafani Bayless.<\/p>\n

Skip and Ernestine shared a video\u00a0 of themselves discussing and dissecting the Kansas City Chiefs as well as Kelce, Swift and even Brittany Mahomes via X<\/a> on Friday, August 22.<\/p>\n

\u201cI dread football and I knew it was coming because I know once July stops and now it\u2019s August and then these preseason games start. I dread it because it goes till February and I know it and I\u2019m like, God,\u201d Ernestine began. \u201cBut this year I was really dreading the reemerging of Taylor Swift with Travis Kelce. I just, that was to me, I dreaded that as much as dreaded this because I mean, this is just, it\u2019s actually been nice that they haven\u2019t been all over the place.\u201d<\/p>\n

She asked of the pair, \u201cIsn\u2019t anybody else sick of it?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe NFL has officially entered the chat \u2014 and is defending its uptick in Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift coverage as their romance continues to make headlines. \u201cWe frequently change our bios and profile imagery based on what\u2019s happening in and around our games, as well as culturally,\u201d the NFL said in a statement to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

Skip appeared to agree, interjecting, \u201cTravis Kelce catches a pass, shot of Taylor up in the box, cheering wildly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then we go into the Mahomes thing with the wife, and it\u2019s like, this is bigger than football. It really is now, the focus is more on them as opposed to football,\u201d Ernestine added. (Brittany, 29, has been married to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes since March 2022<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Ernestine added that she \u201cdoesn\u2019t mind\u201d Swift, 35, \u201cbeing a singer\u201d but questioned why her relationship with Kelce, also 35, has had to \u201cbecome so overblown.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not as though she\u2019s the first celebrity dating an athlete. And I know that she\u2019s larger than life and I know she\u2019s bigger than anybody in the world, but it just becomes so \u2026 emphasized,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Skip claimed that Kelce is \u201con the downside of his career\u201d and is likely to retire this season. \u201cI think it\u2019s been shrewd on her part to couple with him because it\u2019s a great look for her to be with the tough big football player. It\u2019s a good fit,\u201d he said of Swift.<\/p>\n

But that wasn\u2019t enough for Ernestine, who later added, \u201cNow she\u2019s going to be there at every game. It was bad enough that I had to deal with football coming, but now I have to deal with part two, this part. I can take the other stuff; this I can\u2019t take. I\u2019m sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift and Kelce have been linked since the summer of September 2023, and the pop singer began attending Chiefs games that September<\/a> \u2014 to the simultaneous dismay and delight of fans.<\/p>\n

While talking about the NFL\u2019s focus on Swift on his and brother Jason Kelce\u2018s \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast in October 2023, Travis said, \u201cI think it\u2019s fun when they show who all\u2019s at the game. I think it brings a little more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you\u2019re watching.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFootball fans might be at capacity when it comes to coverage of Taylor Swift attending Travis Kelce\u2018s games \u2014 and they aren\u2019t the only ones. Swift, 33, brought her A-list pals to watch the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, October 1, and the squad quickly became the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

Later that year, Swift told TIME<\/a> that she\u2019s not aware of when she\u2019s on camera at a game. \u201cYou have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don\u2019t know if I\u2019m being shown 17 times or once. I\u2019m just there to support Travis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelce commented on the animosity toward Swift in December 2023. \u201cThey went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen. \u2026 Might have been a few Brads and Chads that were booing, but for the most part, everybody was f\u2014king screaming at Taylor,\u201d Travis said on the December 20 episode of \u201cNew Heights\u201d<\/a> of the first game Swift attended. \u201cI was trying to keep it cool, I was like, \u2018Don\u2019t show your cards.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

By the time Swift appeared on \u201cNew Heights\u201d herself on August 13, 2025, it was clear the pair were having more fun with the clashing takes on the singer\u2019s appearances at games. At one point, Swift joked, \u201cAs we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast.
