It was a surprise last year for Joe Andreessen.<\/p>\n

Not this time.<\/p>\n

The Buffalo Bills are keeping Andreessen on their 53-man roster for the second consecutive season to start his NFL career.<\/p>\n

He’s one of five linebackers the Bills have on the initial 53, along with Matt Milano, Terrel Bernard, Dorian Williams and Shaq Thompson.<\/p>\n

Andreessen is known as “Buffalo Joe.” He attended Lancaster High School in the Buffalo area.<\/p>\n

After that, he spent most of his college time at Bryant before playing his final NCAA season at the University of Buffalo.<\/p>\n

After playing at UB, Andreessen signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent and played himself onto the team.<\/p>\n

As a rookie, Andreessen made 26 tackles.<\/p>\n

He’s a fan favorite because of his local roots and because of his hard-working play style.<\/p>\n

The Bills now know what they have in Andreessen, unlike last year, when he burst onto the scene out of nowhere.<\/p>\n

He’s established in the system and will be expected to contribute in 2025, often on special teams.<\/p>\n

It remains a really cool story that the local kid has made the roster again.<\/p>\n
