Just hours after being released by the Denver Broncos<\/a> on Tuesday, veteran safety Sam Franklin is set to sign with the Buffalo Bills<\/a>, according to KPRC-TV’s Aaron Wilson<\/a>. It’s not yet clear if Franklin is joining Buffalo’s active roster or practice squad.<\/p>\n Franklin, 29, is a vested veteran with more than four years of experience, so he is not subject to the NFL’s waiver wire, allowing him to join any team immediately as a free agent.<\/p>\n When the Broncos<\/a> signed Franklin to a one-year contract<\/a> in April, they gave him $1.337 million fully guaranteed. After the Bills<\/a> sign the safety, they will cover $1.17 million<\/a> that was previously owed by Denver.<\/p>\n After releasing Franklin, the Broncos are moving forward with Brandon Jones<\/a>, Talanoa Hufanga<\/a>, P.J. Locke<\/a>, Devon Key<\/a> and\u00a0JL Skinner<\/a>.
