The New York Jets submitted their initial 53-man roster on Tuesday<\/a>. On Wednesday, general manager Darren Mougey can continue churning the roster via the waiver wire process. The Jets<\/a> own the seventh priority, meaning there’s an excellent chance they’ll be awarded two or three new players they place claims on.<\/p>\n

We’ve identified three talents the Jets should consider claiming off waivers.<\/p>\n

OT Jaelyn Duncan\"Tennessee<\/p>\n

The Jets could use an upgrade at swing offensive tackle behind Olu Fashanu and Armand Membou. The Tennessee Titans waived Jaelyn Duncan, a 2023 sixth-round pick who showed improvement at training camp this year. Duncan can play both positions, and has the size teams covet at the position.<\/p>\n

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers<\/a> waived speedy wide receiver Trey Palmer. The former sixth-round selection has recorded 51 receptions for 557 yards and four touchdowns throughout his ascending career. Palmer also has experience on special teams, and would immediately contend for playing time in the Jets’ uneven wideout room.<\/p>\n

There’s a lack of depth in the Jets’ tight end room with Jeremy Ruckert and Stone Smartt as the backups. Greg Dulcich had a league-high three receiving touchdowns in the preseason. Dulcich has battled injuries in recent years, but he enjoyed a promising rookie campaign back in 2022.<\/p>\n
