Deion, 58, opened up about the news that his son Shilo, 25, had been cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week after getting ejected for punching an opponent<\/a> during the team\u2019s final preseason NFL game on Saturday.<\/p>\n Speaking at a press conference<\/a> following his University of Colorado team\u2019s practice Tuesday, the college football coach said he\u2019s spoken to Shilo about Saturday\u2019s incident.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s my son, and I\u2019m proud of my kids, all of them, and I\u2019ve prepared my kids for any and everything that could possibly happen in life and in sports,\u201d Deion said. \u201cThat\u2019s part of fathering, that\u2019s part of parenting, that\u2019s part of having a relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n Deion said Shilo \u201cis mentally where he needs to be, physically where he needs to be\u201d but will need to wait for another opportunity to play in the NFL.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re praying that he gets another opportunity to go with a team, but if he doesn\u2019t, the plans have already been put forward for what he\u2019s going to do next,\u201d Deion told reporters. \u201cShilo\u2019s a man of many talents, I don\u2019t know if you guys know, he\u2019s a man of many talents, and he\u2019s going to be straight. The defensive safety played in three preseason games for Tampa Bay before he was waived by the team this week after punching Buffalo Bills tight end Zach Davidson<\/a> in the helmet with a closed fist.<\/p>\n “You can’t throw punches in this league, that’s inexcusable,” Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles told reporters after the game. “They’re going to get you every time.
