The team has some players with nagging injuries, including their rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals.<\/p>\n<p>Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed reporters via Zoom on Friday to share his thoughts on Royals&#8217; status for Week 1.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Jalen (Royals) continues to work to get himself better,&#8221; said Reid, &#8220;Yeah, there&#8217;s \u2013 we&#8217;ll see how it goes, I mean it&#8217;ll be a, it&#8217;d be a real rush for this week for sure. So, it doesn&#8217;t look like he&#8217;ll probably make (it) this week, but should be ready to go as we go down the road here.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Royals is recovering from a knee injury, so getting him ready for next Friday may not be realistic. The fourth round pick in April&#8217;s NFL Draft finished the preseason with three catches for 14 yards.<\/p>\n<p>During his final college season, Royals was named second-team All-Mountain West.
