Unless you have been living under a rock for the last 24 hours, you know that the Cowboys traded elite pass-rusher Micah Parsons<\/a> to the Packers. It was a huge, shocking trade that could upset the balance of power in the league. <\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the Bears<\/a>, they will now have to play against Parsons twice a year. That\u2019s in addition to already having to go against Aidan Hutchinson, Jonathan Allen, Dallas Turner, and others. <\/p>\n

The Packers agreed to send Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks to the Cowboys in exchange for Parsons. Considering Parsons is among the best defenders in the league, many around Chicago began to wonder if the Bears should\u2019ve offered a similar package for the star.<\/p>\n

670 The Score\u00a0Chicago host David Haugh<\/a> made it known on Friday that he definitely would have made a big offer to the Cowboys. Haugh explained that he would have been open to offering Jaylon Johnson, Montez Sweat, or Dayo Odeyingbo, plus picks, in exchange for Parsons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would have given up Montez Sweat and two firsts. I would have given up Dayo Odeyingbo and two firsts. I would have given up Jaylon Johnson, a first, and a future second,\u201d said Haugh. \u201cCome up with any kind of salary cap math and I would have figured out a way to get this deal done. I don\u2019t think Ryan Poles tried and I think he might have looked at the way that he allocated resources on his payroll and saw how much he\u2019s already devoted to edge rusher.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Haugh mentioned, it\u2019s possible Poles was reluctant to make an offer due to already having so much invested in the edge-rusher group. However, offering Sweat or Odeyingbo would have solved this issue. <\/p>\n

Jerry Jones made it known that he desired Clark\u2019s elite run defense<\/a>, though, so there\u2019s no guarantee the Cowboys would have accepted an edge-rusher.
