According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, those inside the Green Bay Packers organization expect him to return to the field sooner rather than later.

“Micah Parsons wants to play. So Monday, the Packers are gonna take the practice field. He will probably out there in some capacity,” Fowler said on SportsCenter Sunday morning. “I think they’re gonna try to limit his reps.

“They’re gonna be really smart with him, see what he can handle coming off that back injury — but that back injury is feeling a little bit better now, and they’ll go from there.”

Parsons said that he was feeling great physically during his introductory press conference with the Packers. He plans to meet with team doctors and work on piecing a recovery plan together and assured that he’s working diligently on his return. It appears that plan may already be in place.

That said, Parsons hasn’t been active at all during fall camp with the Cowboys or the Packers. Although, Fowler revealed that isn’t cause for concern.

“I do know that Parsons, when he was in Dallas, despite his hold in not practicing, he was doing two a days on his own,” Fowler revealed. “He was running, he was lifting, he was a part of all the meetings the Cowboys coaches felt legitimately that he was getting himself ready to play.

“So it’s not like he’s just been sitting around for a month. He is ready to go. They want to get him out there, they just see that he could be on a bit of a pitch count.”

Parsons said himself that Green Bay didn’t “give up what they gave up” for him to simply sit on the sidelines. The 26-year-old pass-rushing star expects to be on the field when the Packers open the season against the Detroit Lions at home on Sept. 7.

For now, Parsons will be limited with the plan to continuously add to his workload as training camp wraps up. With one week left, it’s unclear whether Parsons will actually be 100% by then. Still, it seems as though Parsons himself expects to be ready sooner rather than later. Fans would love to see him in a Packers uniform by Week 1. However, only time will tell if that’s actually the case.

Micah Parsons revealed that he’s been dealing with a back injury this offseason, and provided a hopeful update…

[3
7,15747,6
0":"post-331117","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-nfl","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-micah-parsons-18-harrisburg","10":"tag-nfl
["GET
