It might seem crazy, but it may make sense for all parties involved.

Historically, Meyers has seen much success under McDaniels. In 2021, Meyers blossomed during McDaniels’ last year as the Patriots offensive coordinator, before he accepted the head coaching position with the Raiders. That season, he accumulated 866 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns with just three drops. Since joining the Silver and Black, No. 16 has been the definition of reliability. In fact, just three drops in two years along with 98 first down conversions gives weight to that statement.

That being said, what reasons would you have for letting him go if you were Raiders general manager John Spytek?

A logical reunion?

Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon recently laid out some scenarios involving Meyers. Among those ideas was that of a reunion between McDaniels (who is back with the Patriots) and Meyers.

“Meyers scored six touchdowns as a member of the Patriots in 2022, and he’s been with Josh McDaniels there and in Vegas. They could use another veteran receiver to work with Stefon Diggs as another option for young quarterback Drake Maye,” Gagnon stated. “Plus, the Pats lead the league in salary-cap space, and they have an extra fourth-round pick thanks to a deal this offseason with Kansas City.”

For the Patriots, pursuing a familiar face in Meyers makes complete sense. He would provide their young quarterback a true No. 1 receiver to complement Diggs. However, considering their goals under new head coach Pete Carroll, it raises the question: why would the Raiders assist their former head coach by giving up their best offensive weapon from last season, aside from Brock Bowers?

Funny enough, Gagnon mentioned that these two teams could be in contention for a wild card spot come playoff time. Given this, any trade with the Patriots could potentially backfire on Spytek, Carroll, and the Raiders. Gagnon’s proposed deal involves a sixth-round selection along with cornerback Alex Austin. It just doesn’t make sense, although McDaniels would surely love to have Meyers back in the fold in New England.

More: Check Out Our Next Combat Sports Section—The Royal Ramble

*Top Photo: Getty Images

Join The Ramble Email List

Imagine a scenario where current Las Vegas Raiders wideout Jakobi Meyers reunites with his old coordinator and head…

[2065
7,6913,6441,1744,393,2455,2454,6,525
0":"post-333660","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-las-vegas-raiders","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-jakobi-meyers","10":"tag-josh-mcdaniels","11":"tag-las-vegas","12":"tag-las-vegas-raiders","13":"tag-lasvegas","14":"tag-lasvegasraiders","15":"tag-nfl","16":"tag-raiders
["GET
