The growing rivalry between the Chicago Bears<\/a> and Detroit Lions will be a big storyline in the NFC North this season, with Ben Johnson becoming the head coach in Chicago after serving as offensive coordinator for Detroit since 2022.<\/p>\n

While there’s been plenty of offseason and preseason chatter from both sides, wide receiver Rome Odunze believes his team is going to bring it when the two teams meet early in Week 2 this season.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Kay Adams of the “Up & Adams Show,”<\/a> Odunze said the Bears<\/a> are looking forward to getting after it against the Lions, and doing so by using their own work against them.<\/p>\n

After the Bears blew out the Bills 38-0 in the preseason, Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown said the plays the Bears ran were the same that were used in Detroit, and Odunze had the perfect reaction to the dig.<\/p>\n

“It’s going to be a lively one, it’s at Detroit,” Odunze said. “It’s clearly going to be a warm welcome and we’re going to get after it a little bit, and those same plays (they used in Detroit), we’ll be running.”<\/p>\n

Odunze could be a big beneficiary of Ben Johnson’s offense in Chicago, so it’ll be intriguing to see how he’s used in comparison to Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. Whether the Lions know what is coming or not, the Bears will turn up the heat in this rivalry in Week 2.<\/p>\n
