The Cardinals open the regular season Sunday in New Orleans, but even with a two-hour time difference, the team will not leave for Louisiana until Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
This is a change for Jonathan Gannon’s team as they work to maximize their chance to win road games.<\/p>\n
“We tweaked it a little bit,” the coach said. “Talked to the experts. It is a little bit of a change of how we have handled that.”<\/p>\n
Previously, the Cardinals had often made a two-hour time difference game a trip that left on Friday. This season’s schedule, given the rest of the country switching clocks in early November, has the Cardinals playing only one game with a three-hour time difference from Arizona — the Cardinals play in Indianapolis Week 6. All the other games, including a game in Tampa, will only feature two-hour differences maximum.<\/p>\n
This is by far the best roster Gannon has had since taking over, but the Cardinals are 4-13 on the road in his first two seasons, so the team sought a new way to help change those results.<\/p>\n
