Football fans, the long wait is over. It\u2019s officially time to welcome the 2025-26 NFL season. Reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles will begin their quest to defend their title, but standing in their way are 31 other teams.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Thursday, September 4, marks the official commencement of the 2025 regular season. The Eagles will raise their Super Bowl LIX banner prior to kickoff, following which they will host the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> in an NFC East showdown.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Week 1 of the 2025-26 NFL season consists of four prime-time games. The first one is the season opener in which the Eagles take on the Cowboys.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The second prime-time game falls on Friday night, and it is also the first international series game of the season. The Los Angeles Chargers will host the Kansas City Chiefs in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Fans can catch the action at 8:00 PM ET on YouTube and NFL+.<\/p>\n

The third game will be the first Sunday Night Football (SNF) game taking place on September 7. It is a meeting between two top AFC contenders as the Baltimore Ravens travel to Western New York to take on the Buffalo Bills.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Finally, the last prime-time game of the week features the Minnesota Vikings as they go up against NFC North rivals the Chicago Bears in the season\u2019s first Monday Night Football (MNF) game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets<\/p>\n

The Steelers taking on the Jets on Sunday afternoon is quite an interesting game. Aaron Rodgers comes back to the same place he called home for the past couple of years, but this time in a Steelers uniform.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He will start under center against the Jets, who will have Justin Fields as their starting quarterback. And he, too, will be taking on the same team he played for just last season. The winner gets the bragging rights.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns<\/p>\n

An AFC North showdown featuring two teams from Ohio. The Bengals take on the Browns as both teams go for an important divisional win. Cincinnati has been known to get off to slow starts at the beginning of the season, but with all three key pieces signed for another year, the Bengals are looking good to go.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the Browns have finally figured out their quarterback confusion and have retained faith in veteran Joe Flacco. Myles Garrett should be raring to go after putting pen to paper on a mammoth contract extension this offseason.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers<\/p>\n

The NFC North has been a challenging division of late. The Lions have been at the top of the division the past two seasons, but Green Bay has made some brilliant moves this offseason. Drafting Mathew Golden at receiver was one of those, but nothing can beat their latest trade with the Cowboys for superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons<\/p>\n

Another divisional rivalry pits the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Atlanta Falcons. The Bucs have been consistent winners of the NFC South for the past 4 seasons. They boast of a strong and well-balanced team on both sides of the ball. Baker Mayfield has the likes of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and an upcoming rookie receiver, Emeka Egbuka, to throw to.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Atlanta will head into this season with Michael Penix Jr. as their starting quarterback. After finishing second in the division last year, it will be interesting to see if they have the game to take down the Bucs in their season-opener.\u00a0<\/p>\n

New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders<\/p>\n

The New York Giants have an engrossing divisional rivalry with the Washington Commanders. This year, it will be even more fascinating to see how the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year, Jayden Daniels, manages to tackle the Giants\u2019 defensive front.\u00a0<\/p>\n
