{"id":339756,"date":"2025-09-04T01:23:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T01:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/339756\/"},"modified":"2025-09-04T01:23:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T01:23:10","slug":"giants-sell-minority-stake-to-koch-family-at-record-10-billion-valuation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/339756\/","title":{"rendered":"Giants sell minority stake to Koch family at record $10 billion valuation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new family reportedly is on the verge of joining the Giants ownership group for the first time in 34 years.<\/p>\n<p>Investor Julia Koch and other members of the billionaire Koch family have agreed to buy a minority stake in the Giants, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-09-03\/new-york-giants-agree-to-sell-minority-stake-to-koch-family?taid=68b8bfb29bc3070001310efb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Bloomberg first reported Wednesday<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The deal is for 10 percent of the franchise at a record valuation of $10 billion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportico.com\/business\/team-sales\/2025\/new-york-giants-sale-koch-value-1234856142\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to Sportico<\/a>. A sale cannot be finalized until it is presented to other NFL owners at a meeting in October.<\/p>\n<p>The Giants hired a banker in February to sell up to a 10 percent non-controlling stake in the team. Her net worth is $74.2 billion per Forbes.<\/p>\n<p>The Koch family, including Julia and David\u2019s three children, purchased a 15 percent stake in BSE Global \u2014 the parent company of the Nets, Liberty and Barclays Center for nearly $700 million \u2014 in 2024.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The 49ers reportedly agreed to sell 6.2 percent ownership of the franchise when it was valued at $8.6 billion in May.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37014499\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/new-york-giants-owner-john-109899320.jpg\" alt=\"Giants owner John Mara.\" class=\"wp-image-37014499\"  \/>Giants owner John Mara. Manning ended his pursuit <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/09\/sports\/eli-manning-bails-on-pursuit-of-minority-giants-ownership-stake\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">because the price became \u201ctoo expensive,\u201d<\/a> he told CNBC in July, and Strahan reportedly partnered with billionaire Marc Lasry to make a bid.<\/p>\n<p>John Mara, who doubles as president and CEO, will remain the face of the Giants.
