The Tennessee Titans<\/a>‘ rookie minicamp will kick off today. All of the team\u2019s rookies will report to Nashville for the first time and participate in multiple sessions over the next three days.<\/p>\n

While this is an exciting time, it is also a great time to take stock of the roster as a whole and look to see if there are any veteran free agents available that could come in and make a difference. For the Titans, there are different areas they could address if the right fit is on the market, but who that player is remains a mystery.<\/p>\n

Mason Cameron of Pro Football Focus (PFF) believes the Titans should address the cornerback position<\/a> and find a starting-caliber corner if one is available.<\/p>\n

Tennessee Titans: Acquire a starting-caliber cornerback<\/p>\n

L’Jarius Sneed\u2019s start in Tennessee was far from productive, earning a 36.8 PFF coverage grade before his season ended due to injury in Week 6. Darrell Baker Jr. and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. stepped in to hold down the fort with middling results.<\/p>\n

With Sneed now facing legal troubles, finding stability at cornerback is paramount for the Titans, who ran the highest rate of quarters coverage (21.9%) in the NFL last season. Targeting a veteran in Kendall Fuller would be a savvy move, as he posted a 76.0 PFF coverage grade or better during his time in Washington\u2019s quarters-heavy scheme.<\/p>\n

Cameron is spot on with his critique of Sneed. Not only did he underwhelm in 2024, but his pending legal issues also complicate matters. At this point, there is no timeline available for when or if a grand jury will take on the case, which is concerning. A hearing for the civil case centering on the alleged incident is scheduled for June 2.<\/p>\n

On the health side, no update was given on the leg injury that kept him out for the majority of the 2024 season. Sneed has been spotted at the team\u2019s facility during voluntary workouts, although the amount of his participation has not been detailed.<\/p>\n

There are some good cornerback options available on the market. While Mike Hilton would be more of a slot option, former Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. may be the best outside cornerback available. However, he does seem to come with some baggage that would need to be vetted.<\/p>\n
