That means it’s time for an incredibly meaningful and serious exercise: NFL Power Rankings! What differentiates these rankings from all the others is that they’re THE only truly accurate ones in the entire universe. Pretty impressive, I know. Let’s take a look at how all 32 teams stack up.

BLG’S WEEK 1 NFL POWER RANKINGS

1 – Philadelphia Eagles – The Super Bowl LIX champions are on top until further notice. They’ll likely need to be the first team to repeat as NFC East champions since 2004 to be able to repeat as Super Bowl champions. They should be talented enough to make history.

2 – Kansas City Chiefs – Patrick Mahomes makes the AFC Championship Game every single year. It’s going to happen again this season.

3 – Buffalo Bills – Josh Allen’s going to finally break through and make it to the Super Bowl at some point, right?

4 – Baltimore Ravens – Lamar Jackson’s going to finally break through and make it to the Super Bowl at some point, right? Eh, not totally convinced His playoff struggles have been a pretty big problem.

5 – Green Bay Packers – The Packers have the youngest roster in the NFL. There’s reason to believe they’re getting better, especially after trading for Micah Parsons. Looking like the top threat to the Birds in the NFC.

6 – Detroit Lions – Big fan of Dan Campbell but losing both coordinators is a big problem. Especially when Ben Johnson was so huge for that offense. Not to mention Frank Ragnow is gone.

7 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Missing Tristan Wirfs early on could lead to a slow start but that offense could be cooking once he’s back. Mike Evans, Emeka Egbuka, and Chris Godwin (when healthy) is a really strong trio for Baker Mayfield to work with.

8 – Los Angeles Rams – Is Matthew Stafford definitely healthy? If so, the Rams could be the No. 2 team in the NFC. If not, they’re not going to make the playoffs.

9 – Cincinnati Bengals – That defense has to be better than it was last year, right? Then again, they got torched by the Eagles’ backups in the preseason. We at least know that Joe Burrow and the offense will carry their weight.

10 – Houston Texans – The Texans were a prime regression candidate last year. Now that C.J. Stroud’s sophomore slump is over, I like DeMeco Ryans’ squad to bounce back. Helps that they play in a very weak division (scroll down to see where I have the rest of the AFC South teams ranked).

11 – San Francisco 49ers – The 49ers’ schedule is a cakewalk. They’re going to dominate the regular season before getting bounced in the playoffs.

12 – Washington Commanders – The Commanders’ decision to aggressively push their chips in on this season is bewildering. Taking advantage of Jayden Daniels’ rookie contract window is important, yes, but not to the extent where they need to mortgage their future to create the oldest roster in the NFL by far. Daniels could mitigate some of the Commanders’ regression but if he doesn’t … this season could be very disappointing for them.

13 – Denver Broncos – Sean Payton deserves some benefit of the doubt. Bo Nix has not reached that point yet.

14 – Chicago Bears – I’m high on Ben Johnson as an offensive mind. Is he a good head coach? We’ll see. Color me skeptical about Caleb Williams.

15 – Minnesota Vikings – The Vikings won so many one-score games last year. Their luck in that area will regress, as will their defense. I think J.J. McCarthy has a chance to be good but it’s just a complete unknown right now.

16 – Los Angeles Chargers – Jim Harbaugh offers one of the highest floors in the NFL. But the perpetually snake-bitten Bolts are missing their left tackle this season.

17 – Pittsburgh Steelers – They’ll apparently never have a losing record under Mike Tomlin. But it’s hard to believe they’ll actually be a threat to do anything in the playoffs.

18 – New England Patriots – Drake Maye might be good. Mike Vrabel is worth believing in. The roster still needs some work but the Pats could be back on the upswing.

19 – Dallas Cowboys – Who on their defense really strikes fear in the wake of the Micah Parsons trade? Also, Dak Prescott was bad before getting hurt last year, and now he’s playing behind a worse offensive line. Dallas might have the NFL’s worst backfield.

20 – Arizona Cardinals – Kyler Murray and Jonathan Gannon are not people you want to count on in big games.

21 – Miami Dolphins – The Dolphins do not have good vibes with Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill seemingly not on the same page.

22 – Seattle Seahawks – Moving on from Geno Smith was a good call. Moving to Sam Darnold was not!

23 – Carolina Panthers – Bryce Young showed some signs of promise this year. They might be frisky in the NFC South.

24 – Atlanta Falcons – The Falcons made one of the dumbest trades of the offseason by sending a future first-round pick for James Pearce Jr. As a result, they might be sending a top 10 pick to the Rams in the 2026 NFL Draft.

25 – Las Vegas Raiders – This team probably has a higher floor than they’ve had for a bit. Pete Carroll brings credibility to the table. For all his faults, Geno Smith is a legitimate starting caliber quarterback. There’s some competency here but the ceiling is pretty limited.

26 – New York Giants – Jaxson Dart might be good. We probably won’t have to wait too long to see him play since the Giants’ schedule is really tough early on (at WAS, at DAL, vs. KC, vs. LAC).

27 – New York Jets – I have some beachfront property in Kansas to sell if you’re of the belief that Justin Fields can be good.

28 – Jacksonville Jaguars – Travis Hunter could be pretty fun. But what else makes you believe they’re going to be any good?

29 – Cleveland Browns – Kevin Stefanski seems to be a good coach. This team came to Philly pretty motivated for joint training camp practices against the Eagles. They’re going to lose a lot of games but they’re not simply going to roll over. And that’s more than you can say for the very worst of the worst.

30 – Indianapolis Colts – I mean, they’re starting Daniel Jones.

31 – Tennessee Titans – Interested to see if Cam Ward is any good. They could be a lot better a lot sooner than expected if he is, as we saw with Washington last year. (Not saying Ward is definitely Daniels.)

32 – New Orleans Saints – Rough outlook here for former Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Just not much hope at quarterback.

The 2025 NFL season is HERE!
