Patriots great Julian Edelman switched his tone about the drama surrounding his former football coach Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. <\/p>\n
During a Wednesday appearance on \u201cThe Herd with Colin Cowherd,\u201d Edelman, who previously defended Hudson<\/a> over her viral interjection during Belichick\u2019s \u201cCBS Sunday Morning\u201d interview<\/a> last month, explained that Belichick needs to practice what he preached in the NFL and focus on football. <\/p>\n \u201cThe No. 1 thing we used to talk about all the time in New England was distractions. \u2018Let\u2019s not make distractions. The game\u2019s already as hard as it is. That\u2019s what we all think right now. This is becoming a distraction. Getty Images<\/p>\n Cowherd, who previously praised Hudson for her $8 million real estate portfolio<\/a>, said he didn\u2019t want to be \u201ctoo judgey\u201d about the subject. <\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re both benefitting from this, her professionally and him somewhat professionally. So, I don\u2019t like to be too judgey on this stuff,\u201d the FS1 host said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Edelman agreed and explained that Belichick wouldn\u2019t have allowed this situation to carry on during his 24 seasons coaching in New England. <\/p>\n \u201cI dont either, but once again were talking about this three weeks later \u2026 it\u2019s on this, it\u2019s on that,\u201d Edelman said. \u201cIt\u2019s getting to a point where we gotta start worrying about the ACC, [and Clemson football coach] Dabo Swinney. We shouldn\u2019t be talking about our girlfriend. I think she\u2019s actually working with coach Belichick in the professional world and she was probably went and said, \u2018Hey, no, we\u2019re not doing that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson. Instagram\/Jordon Hudson<\/p>\n After signing a five-year, $50 million deal to be UNC\u2019s next head football coach last December, Belichick brought Hudson into the fold, reportedly including her on all UNC emails, among other things.<\/p>\n Belichick and UNC <\/a>issued a statement amid the media firestorm last week and explained that that Hudson was simply doing her job and trying to keep the interview focused on his new book, \u201cThe Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football,\u201d which released Tuesday.<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear exactly what Hudon\u2019s role is in Belichick\u2019s business and it is also unclear if she is employed by UNC.<\/p>\n The statement also said Belichick and Hudson met while on a flight to Palm Beach<\/a>\u00a0in 2021.<\/p>\n They went public with their relationship last June. <\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t
