Wade Phillips <\/a>set the record straight Friday night after a false social media rumor circulated about the longtime football coach\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

In a social media post on X\/Twitter,<\/a> Phillips reiterated to his followers that he is in good health. Phillips, 78, notably sent out an X post Thursday night, where he said he was OK and watching the Cowboys-Eagles matchup.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cA sick and cruel person sent this false information on me. Me,my family and friends were very upset. Why would anyone want to do this?\u201d Phillips wrote on Friday. \u201cI am in good health and feel great except for this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Phillips has maintained an active social media presence in recent years. He has also been active in coaching at multiple different levels.<\/p>\n

Phillips last served as head coach of the UFL\u2019s San Antonio Brahmas, taking over that position in 2024. He took a leave of absence from the Brahmas in April for personal reasons.<\/a><\/p>\n

Before coaching in the UFL, Phillips held various positions in the NFL. He was head coach of the Dallas Cowboys from 2007-10,<\/a> leading the franchise to a pair of NFC East titles. His coaching career has spanned more than 40 years at the college and pro level while mostly serving as a defensive coordinator.<\/p>\n

Phillips\u2019 career resume includes a Super Bowl victory, which he claimed in 2016 as defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos.<\/p>\n
