They will get their first taste of NFL life on Friday afternoon. What numbers will the newest Tennessee Titans sport as they begin their rookie seasons?

What’s In A Number? Tennessee Titans Rookie Edition
Offense
QB Cam Ward – 1

The former Miami signal caller, turned Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback, was blessed by franchise legend Warren Moon to wear the retired number 1. Moon honored the first-year passer at his press conference by bestowing the famed jersey upon the young man. Ward sported the number since his days at Washington State, and never thought it possible that the iconoclastic Moon would unretire it himself. The first overall selection will have a tremendous legacy to live up to the number’s standard.

RB Kalel Mullings – 28

The Michigan Man is electing to wear 28, made famous by the indomitable Chris Johnson, aka CJ2k. Johnson was one of this generation’s most dynamic running backs, and the number should have been retired in his honor. Quandre Diggs wore the number last season. Mullings wore 20 in college, which is spoken for in Tennessee by Tony Pollard. Can the Tennessee Titans’ rookie live up to the billing of the numbers?

Kalel Mullings Scouting Report

WR Elic Ayomanor – 5

Stanford’s Ayomanor chose the number five since his college number (13) is currently filled by receiver/return specialist James Proche. The most notable player to wear number 5 in Titans history is former quarterback Kerry Collins, who served as a part-time starter and veteran mentor to Vince Young. Hopefully, Ayomanor will be a little more successful than the Collins era for the franchise.

Elic Ayomanor Scouting Report

WR Chimere Dike – 17

Dike chose his collegiate number, available after Ryan Tannehill’s departure after the 2023 season. Tannehill led the Titans to their most recent era of glory until it sadly faded away under the last vestiges of Mike Vrabel. The former Florida receiver is a monster athlete who should keep defenses honest over the top. He’ll play a vital role for the Tennessee offense as the season progresses.

Chimere Dike Scouting Report

TE Gunnar Helm – 84

The rookie Longhorn will have an illustrious (ignominious) history to live up to in his new (old?) jersey number. Former Titans tight end Nick Vannett wore the number last season. Indomitable Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss put on the 84 during his brief stint in Nashville. Former first-round selection Corey Davis turned out to be the heir apparent to the number after Moss.

Gunnar Helm Scouting Report

iOL Jackson Slater – 64

Slater, who wore 76 in college, is wearing 64 because swing tackle Andrew Rupcich wears his Sacramento State number. The number 64 was last popular when former Titan right guard Nate Davis wore it for several seasons. 64 was last issued to free agent Arlington Hambright, who left the team via release shortly after the draft.

Jackson Slater Scouting Report

Defense
Feb 27, 2025; Indianapolis, IN, USA; UCLA defensive lineman Oluwafemi Oladejo (DL58) during the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Center. Keith Bulluck set the standard for every Titans linebacker wearing the number 53. Ernest Jones spent time wearing the number last season before he was traded to Seattle. Oladejo has quite a high standard to live up to.

Oluwafemi Oladejo Scouting Report

CB Marcus Harris – 26

Harris is a Cal cornerback who transitioned to 26 after wearing 5 in college for the Golden Bears and 2 for Idaho. Fellow 2025 draft classmate Elic Ayomanor took 5. Running back Tyjae Spears has spoken for the number 2. The number 26 was last issued to Justin Hardee, a receiver/special-teams ace who was waived during the offseason. Logan Ryan is the most famous Tennessee Titan who wore the number during his brief three-year stint on his way to winning two Super Bowls elsewhere.

S Kevin Winston, Jr – 23

The Penn State safety receives 23 to begin his pro career since standout nickel corner Roger McCreary occupies his college number (21). Tre Avery wore the 23 last season and is no longer with the team after several subpar campaigns. Blaine Bishop made the number famous in Tennessee lore after starring for the franchise for nine seasons.

Kevin Winston, Jr Scouting Report

Main Image: Denny Simmons – USA Today Sports

With the 2025 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, rookie minicamp beckons for the Titans’ debutants.
