His kick was good and the score stood at 13-0 in favor of the Raiders.

The duo repeated the performance as the quarter wound down, with a 45 yard connection for a score. Falco hit the PAT and the period ended with the Raiders up 20-0.

Wamego opened the second period with another long pass to Falco. This was followed up by 44 yard pass play from Fulton to Reed McDiffett for the Raiders’ fourth touchdown. Falco tapped in the extra point, moving the score to 27-0.

The next two Concordia possessions were stymied by the Raider defense, led by Mason Isch who targeted the Panther quarterback most of the game, leading to several sacks. An Isch sack, followed by a Sam Rogers interception buried the visitors.

On Wamego’s final possession of the half, Falco was again the target of a Fulton pass, leading to a 20 yard touchdown play. His PAT kick gave Wamego a 34-0 halftime lead.

Fulton and Falco teamed up one more time in the third period for 34 yard effort. Although the kick failed, the Raiders were up 40-0.

Head Coach Weston Moody began subbing in the younger players in the fourth period, and Concordia was able to add a touchdown to its side of the board.

Overall, Moody was pleased with his team’s performance.

“I think everything went right,” he said. “We came out and were able to sustain the drive and score. And anytime you have a big drive like that at the beginning of the game, it gives you confidence.”

Moody added he thought “You’ll be hearing a lot about Falco and Isch” as the season progresses.

Next week, the Raiders travel to Rock Creek for the Backyard Brawl.

“There will be things to work on,” Moody said. “There are always things to work on. We’ll be playing in a different environment, playing on grass rather than turf.

“I don’t have to tell the guys anything about the game,” he concluded, “they know what it is.
